EPIP Association

European Policy for Intellectual Property (EPIP) is an international, independent, interdisciplinary, non-profit association of researchers having its roots in a network financed by the European Commission in 2003-2005.

As a leading European platform for the analysis and discussion of intellectual property, it brings together scholars and practitioners working on legal, economic, and management aspects of protection, commercialisation and enforcement of intellectual property rights, along with policy-makers and stakeholders.

The objectives of EPIP are:

  • to promote research on economic, legal, social and regulatory aspects of intellectual property rights at national, European and international levels;
  • to contribute ideas, projects and discussions that promote innovation, productivity and growth in Europe and beyond;
  • to encourage policy-oriented discussion on intellectual property by involving policy-makers, administrative bodies (including patent offices) and stakeholders ;
  • to cooperate with other associations and organisations with similar objectives

EPIP annual conferences are an influential forum for interdisciplinary discussion and knowledge exchange. Each conference includes themed sessions, keynote presentations, policy-focused panel discussions, and round tables. A PhD workshop with the Young Scholars Award is an integral part of each event.
